Geographic Information System Specialist | 65/hr Remote

Summary: The QGIS Expert role involves leading GIS projects using QGIS, managing data acquisition, analysis, and cartographic outputs. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end GIS projects in QGIS, from raw spatial data acquisition and cleaning to final cartographic outputs.
• Document workflows and reasoning while performing data management, spatial analysis, and map production tasks.
• Organize, clean, and validate spatial datasets to ensure high accuracy and consistency.
• Manage coordinate systems, projections, and spatial references to maintain data interoperability.
• Style and symbolize map layers for clarity, interpretability, and professional presentation.
• Build advanced layouts and cartographic products while explaining design decisions.
• Troubleshoot GIS workflow issues and clearly articulate problem-solving approaches.
