Summary: The GCP Software Engineer role focuses on delivering scalable cloud solutions and influencing engineering decisions within the ARIX 1 and 2 domains at JLP. The position requires expertise in Google Cloud Platform and offers a fully remote, long-term engagement. The engineer will also guide junior engineers and ensure adherence to engineering principles. This role is open to candidates across the UK eligible for BPSS clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver medium–high complexity tasks with minimal supervision
- Design, build, and maintain applications on Google Cloud Platform
- Contribute to and lead technical design decisions (ARIX 1 & 2)
- Guide and support junior engineers
- Ensure solutions align with JLP Engineering Principles, Engineering Guide, Quality Strategy, and Coding Principles
Key Skills:
- Experience with GCP (e.g., GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub)
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Java, Python, Go)
- Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and DevOps practices
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices
