Summary: The Full-stack Java Developer role involves working remotely for a global professional services client on a project for an international Investment Bank. Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for modernizing applications geared towards observability, scalability, resiliency, and speed of delivery within the payments ecosystem.
  • Build and release reliable software systems at scale, developing and maintaining full-stack solutions.
  • Design elegant solutions and strategize the future state of the technical ecosystem.
  • Innovate and advocate for best practices, solving complex problems from inception to production.
  • Analyse, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and epics with high quality.
  • Guide and mentor Associate Application Engineers and Senior Associate Application Engineers.
  • Achieve team commitments and influence others using informal leadership and communication skills.
  • Oversee design decisions and guide the team to achieve key results for assigned products.
  • Remediate issues using engineering principles and create proactive design solutions.
  • Contribute to and potentially lead technology communities for the client.
  • Follow Agile methodology and work in 2-week sprints, writing test scripts for full automation.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
  • Experience with Linux, VMware, Openshift, and AWS.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines via Jenkins, Github Actions, Chef, Ansible, Nexus.
  • Testing experience with Database technologies (Postgres or similar).
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as Junit, Cucumber, Jmeter or similar performance testing tools.
  • Experience with caching technology and Kafka or similar streaming technology.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.

We are currently recruiting a full-stack Java developer on behalf of a global professional services client to work on a project for an international Investment Bank.

The Tech Stack:

  • Java, Spring, Hibernate
  • Linux, VMware, Openshift, AWS
  • CI/CD Pipelines via Jenkins, Github Actions, Chef, Ansible, Nexus
  • Testing of Database technologies (Postgres or similar)
  • Full end to end quality tool-set Junit, Cucumber, Jmeter or similar performance testing tool
  • Experience with caching technology. Kafka or similar streaming technology

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

  • As a Full Stack Java Developer on Core Payments Backend team, you will be responsible for continuing the modernisation of our applications that is geared towards observability, scalability, resiliency, and speed of delivery without compromising on quality within the payments ecosystem, including clients' consumers.
  • You will build and release reliable software systems at scale. By partnering with enterprise-wide teams, you'll develop and maintain full-stack solutions that fit our business needs.
  • You'll use your holistic view of all products (and their interactions) to design elegant solutions and strategize the future state of our larger technical ecosystem.
  • By independently innovating and advocating for best practices, you'll solve complex problems and guide the team on implementing solutions from inception to production.
  • Analyse, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and epics with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to production
  • Tends to Associate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks as well as work-related tasks, directs the work of Senior Associate Application Engineers, and helps them continue to grow
  • Achieves team commitments (and influences others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skills
  • Has an oversight on design decisions and guides the team to achieve key results for products assigned to them
  • Remediates issues using engineering principles and creates proactive design solutions for potential failures.
