The Role
You will join a high-performing engineering team to build a brand-new API-driven platform, taking a proof of concept through to production. This is a hands-on full stack role with a strong backend focus, centred around designing secure, scalable REST APIs and building robust, data-driven user interfaces. You’ll be working within a microservices architecture, contributing to a core API service that underpins multiple products. Security is central to this role; you will own authentication, authorisation, and data access patterns across the stack. You’ll collaborate closely with a team of engineers and QA, contributing to architecture decisions, coding standards, and delivery practices in a fast-moving environment. You’ll be joining a globally recognised data organisation whose platforms are used by major enterprises, financial institutions, and governments to drive transparency and decision-making around environmental impact. This is a business where engineering directly influences real-world outcomes at scale.
What You'll Have Experience With:
- TypeScript across backend and frontend
- Node.js services (NestJS or similar frameworks)
- React & Next.js frontend applications
- RESTful API architecture
- Microservices-based systems
- SQL databases (relational)
- ORMs such as Prisma
- Authentication & identity integrations
- Agile delivery within a collaborative engineering squad
Nice to Haves:
- External identity providers (Entra ID, Okta, Google)
- Policy-based or rules-based authorisation
- Advanced database security features
- Microservices architecture at scale
- Experience working on greenfield products
Why Join / Projects:
- You’ll build a greenfield API platform that will be exposed globally; high visibility, real impact
- You’ll solve complex, high-stakes problems around data security, identity, and access control
- You’ll work in a domain where engineering outputs directly influence sustainability, finance, and regulatory decision-making
- You’ll be part of a collaborative, senior team with strong engineering standards and ownership
- You’ll shape the architecture of a platform still in its early stages with genuine influence, not just delivery
If this sounds up your street, please apply and I'll call you to chat further - they're keen to onboard this person.
