Summary: The role of Full Stack Engineer / Lead Developer involves leading a remote development team in creating robust web applications using Next.js, Node.js, and Azure. The position requires a balance of hands-on software development and technical leadership, including team direction and architectural discussions. The contractor will work on a fully remote basis for a duration of 6 months. The role is outside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust and scalable websites and web applications.
  • Provide technical leadership, including team direction, sprint planning, and code reviews.
  • Engage in architectural discussions and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code.
  • Monitor and tune performance using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in Next.js and Node.js.
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or Firebase).
  • Strong background in APIs, microservices, and containerisation (Docker).
  • Extensive Azure cloud experience, including Azure App Services and Functions.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices.

Full Stack Engineer / Lead Developer - Next.js | Node.js | Azure

£500 - £580 a day, Outside IR35 | 6 months Fully Remote – Start ASAP

We are seeking a Lead Software Developer contractor with Next.js, Node.js and Microsoft Azure experience to work as a part of a remote development team developing robust and scalable website and web applications. The role will be 70% hands-on software development and 30% Technical Leadership e.g. providing direction to the team, sprint planning, code reviews and architectural discussions.

Skills required

  • Proficient in Next.js and related frameworks, and Node.js
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies ( HTML, CSS, JavaScript ) and modern frameworks ( React, Angular, or Vue.js )
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Firebase
  • Strong background in APIs, microservices, event-based systems, and containerisation (Docker)
  • Extensive Azure cloud experience , eg: Designing and deploying scalable solutions with Azure App Services, Functions (serverless), and AKS
  • Working with Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Blob/Queue Storage
  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts) or GitHub Actions
  • Applying Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform)
  • Ensuring security best practices with Azure AD, RBAC, Managed Identities, and Key Vault
  • Monitoring and performance tuning with Azure Monitor and Application Insights
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices and experience leading technical discussions
