Summary: JamPot is seeking a dedicated BAU / Accounting Finance Support Specialist to provide essential support in accounting and finance functions on a freelance basis. The role involves managing end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance, and driving automation using modern tools. This position is remote and available to candidates based in the UK, emphasizing respect and open communication throughout the engagement. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in both accounting and bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Prepare and file statutory accounts, returns, invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Handle reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Lead budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Generate accurate financial reports and client-ready summaries.
- Collaborate with clients to identify inefficiencies and implement improved workflows.
- Drive automation of finance processes using AI and modern tools.
- Continuously improve accounting procedures with a focus on technology-driven solutions.
Key Skills:
- Chartered / Qualified / Certified Accountants (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in both accounting and bookkeeping.
- Strong background in preparing and submitting statutory accounts and returns.
- Expertise in AI-powered automations, workflow improvements, and finance tools.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar).
- Tech-savvy, with experience implementing modern digital finance solutions.
- Registered (or willing to register) with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at the point of job offer.
- Freelancer Professional Indemnity Insurance (can be arranged at point of job offer).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Effective communicator (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently in a remote/fractional role.
- Experience with VAT and compliance regulations is a plus.

You will be working as a contractor under the JamPot Support Limited company name, therefore you are not a direct employee and only work as a contractor for our business. The benefit of this structure means, all of our clients sign contracts directly with JamPot Support Limited and not you as the Contractor, therefore you are protected as a remote contractor as JamPot take care of the client service side of the function.
We are currently undertaking market research to determine to determine the pay offered for this role and will talk with you openly around your personal earning experience and expectations. This will enable us to work with our client to ensure a fair renumeration is agreed for both parties.
