Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing rough cuts and giving clear, actionable edit feedback
- Improving pacing, story structure and audience retention
- Writing or refining scripts, hooks and intros
- Identifying missing story beats and stronger narrative angles
- Generating high-potential video ideas in the adventure / history niche
- Helping maximise the value of upcoming shoots and productions
- Developing strong title and thumbnail directions built for high CTR
- Working closely with editors / designers to help execute final packaging
Key Skills:

- Clear track record of contributing to high-performing or viral YouTube content

YouTube Content Director (adventure & history content) Freelance / Remote
We’re hiring a freelance YouTube Content Director to help shape high-performing long-form videos for one of the most exciting channels in the adventure / history space. Looking for someone who knows how to spot a big idea, shape a stronger story, improve a cut, tighten retention, sharpen a hook and turn a great video into something people have to click. You’ll be joining a 7-person team focused on creating premium adventure and history content, exploring remote locations, documenting places rarely filmed, and producing videos built to perform at a seriously high level on YouTube.
The role
You’ll work across the full YouTube process, helping shape videos from idea through to final packaging. That includes:
