The Client
Harmonic is partnering with a VC-backed deeptech business building highly technical hardware, now preparing to go out for its Series A.
Recent changes in the business mean they need an experienced pair of hands to come in and take the raise to completion alongside the founder/CEO.
The Role
Five days per month, three months initially, with real potential to extend through Series B.
The data room is prepped and the financial model is built, so this is not a build-from-scratch brief: it is about getting up to speed quickly, owning the numbers in the room, and sitting alongside the founder/CEO through investor meetings as the credible finance voice.
You will also help scope out the team plans.
What You'll Do
- Get across the model, data room and metrics fast, and take ownership of both.
- Work alongside the founder/CEO in investor meetings, leading the financial narrative and handling diligence questions.
- Manage the process through to close: diligence workstreams, investor Q&A, legal and financial coordination.
- Sanity-check and stress-test the model, assumptions and scenarios.
- Scope out the team structure post Series A.
Essential Experience
- Has raised seed and/or Series A as CFO from VCs.
- Comfortable in the room with investors, not just behind the model.
- Immediately available.
- Able to operate at five days a month with genuine impact from week one.
Desirable Experience
- Deeptech, hardware, or other capital-intensive technical sectors.
