Summary: The role of Fire Engineer involves providing expert advice and support on building safety in England, particularly for high-risk and complex cases. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to caseworkers and multi-disciplinary teams on Gateway 2 applications.
  • Write reports, assess designs, and contribute to enforcement when needed.
  • Develop internal standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Influence cultural change within the organization.
  • Support high-risk and complex building cases.

Key Skills:

  • Strong fire engineering background with experience in complex and high-risk buildings.
  • Deep knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 7974, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Building Regulations 2010 and Building Act 1984.
  • Understanding of fire, structural, and construction safety systems.
  • Skilled in site inspections, safety assessments, and compliance checks.
  • Ability to support colleagues with specialist knowledge.
  • Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., construction, civil engineering).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IFE or equivalent fire safety qualification.

Our client is hiring 3 experienced Fire Engineers to help shape and improve building safety in England. This role offers the chance to make a real impact by supporting high-risk and complex building cases.

You'll provide expert advice to caseworkers and multi-disciplinary teams on Gateway 2 applications, ensuring risk-based, proportionate decisions. This includes writing reports, assessing designs, and contributing to enforcement when needed. You'll help develop internal standards, influence cultural change, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong fire engineering background with experience in complex and high-risk buildings

  • Deep knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 7974, or equivalent
