Summary: The FinOps Consultant role focuses on cloud cost management, specifically utilizing IBM Cloudability to enhance the organization's FinOps practice. The consultant will collaborate with various teams to ensure cloud spending aligns with business objectives while driving cost visibility and optimization. Key Responsibilities:

• Build and mature the organization's FinOps practice.
• Drive cost visibility and optimization across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and product teams to align cloud spending with business objectives.
• Implement and operate IBM Cloudability configurations, connectors, dashboards, and reporting.
• Utilize cost optimization techniques such as rightsizing and workload scheduling.
• Deliver custom reporting using BI/visualization tools.
• Integrate cost tooling with CI/CD and ticketing systems.
• Present technical and financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or cloud financial operations.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Cloudability.
• Strong understanding of cloud billing models and pricing for major cloud providers.
• Practical experience with cost optimization techniques.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with BI/visualization tools.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Desirable: FinOps Foundation certification or equivalent.
• Certifications from cloud providers or IBM Cloud certifications.
