Summary: The Financial Services Team Leader role is an interim position focused on overseeing financial services functions for a public sector client. The leader will manage the finance team, support the Systems Accountant, and act as the primary contact for financial matters, including tax and VAT responsibilities. This fully remote role requires a qualified finance professional with local government experience and a strong background in finance team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the main point of contact for the organisation in relation to Financial Services functions
  • Supporting the Systems Accountant with administration and development of Finance Systems
  • Developing and managing the Finance team
  • Leading employer-related Tax and VAT matters
  • Acting as one of the authorised bank signatories
  • Administering the bank account and corporate credit card

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Finance Professional or currently studying qualifications
  • Local Government experience preferred
  • Experience managing finance teams
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable systems and procedures
  • Stakeholder and Client Relationship experience
