Summary: The role of Financial Cost Accountant involves integrating financial perspectives into strategic decision-making for a Life Science client. The position requires maintaining product costs according to US GAAP, analyzing inventory movements, and providing financial data to stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and create product cost according to US GAAP rules.
- Control, analyze, and report inventory movements, production results, and source-to-settle variances on a monthly basis to business partners, providing high-level commentary and estimates for recurring events to stakeholders.
- Review and ensure accurate data reporting per branch in monthly product cost, sales, and inventory consolidation close.
- Analyze consolidated costs and intercompany profit differences.
- Analyze and resolve in-transit inventory in a timely manner.
- Identify and work on initiatives that improve cost control and/or increase efficiency.
- Continue to meet the S404 requirements, updating documentation, and performing/enhancing existing controls.
- Analyze standard revisions by branch and ensure appropriate accounting is performed in local and consolidated financial statements.
- Address entity/divisional customer questions and requests on various data and system issues.
- Provide accurate and timely financial cost, sales, and inventory data to customers as requested.
Key Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in finance combined with 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role.
- Experience with production analysis within a financial system like SAP or similar.
- Practical experience in preparing accounts in accordance with US GAAP.
- An improvement mindset; knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
- Willingness to take on responsibility.
- Goal-oriented; capable of making decisions, showing initiative, and being adaptive and open to change.
