Summary: The Financial Accountant role at Salute involves supporting the EMEA finance team in managing financial operations for a rapidly growing international organization. The position requires collaboration with finance staff, handling transactional accounting, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a preference for candidates located in the London area. The role emphasizes a team-oriented culture and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing month-end close activities including processing journal entries/allocations.
  • Responsible for the preparation of robust financial statements and month-end packs, substantiating account/general ledger balances and providing first level commentary.
  • Ensuring Balance Sheet reconciliations have been completed to an excellent standard, in a timely manner and have been subjected to a robust review process.
  • Maintaining intercompany matrix to ensure balances agree between entities.
  • Managing year end audit process and ensuring audit requests are dealt with swiftly.
  • Provision of accurate numbers for all disclosures in the annual report and statutory accounts.
  • Closely working with the commercial team, ensuring the accuracy of projects revenue, costs and profitability.
  • Reviews the WIP Report for accuracy, reporting, analysis and variance explanation for projects.
  • Support the global process for record to report processes by driving process efficiency, effectiveness and compliance.
  • Proactively identifying problems and opportunities to standardize, streamline/improve processes and analysis and improve accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other organizational departments to facilitate information flow and ensure financial accuracy.

Key Skills:

  • University Degree ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified preferred but finalists/part qualified will be considered depending on experience.
  • Multi-entity and multi-currency experience.
  • Ability to embrace change – open to new ways of working and changes to systems and processes.
  • Experience handling annual audits and working with an external audit function.
  • Knowledge of accounting, tax and reporting standards & principles.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Competency in dealing with confidential data and exercising sound judgment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience using ERP accounting systems with the ability to adapt computer skills to new systems.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, driving shared goals and achieving business objectives.

As a Financial Accountant, you will be an integral member of our small, high-performing EMEA finance team, offering valuable support to ensure the smooth financial operations of our rapidly growing international organization. Reporting directly to the Regional Finance Controller-EMEA, you will collaborate closely with the finance staff, handle transactional accounting processing, and provide essential assistance in various financial tasks. This is a 6 month FTC with Salute, candidates should be available for a quick start.
