Summary: We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a fast-growing manufacturing and sustainability company on a fully remote fixed-term contract lasting 4-6 months. The role involves overseeing financial accounting, tax compliance, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a professional qualification and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform key monthly financial control activities, including cost allocation, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and process accounting journals, including those related to tax, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Support the internal and external audit process, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit queries.
  • Assist in accounting policy development and provide technical accounting analysis where required.
  • Follow up on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
  • Take ownership of payroll activities with an external payroll provider.
  • Take ownership of tax reporting, including VAT, corporation tax, and other applicable tax matters.
  • Prepare tax accounting calculations, VAT returns, and disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the company’s financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely submission of tax filings and payments.
  • Take ownership of compliance procedures to support business activities.
  • Holds a professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Interested in developing tax expertise, becoming the go-to person for VAT, corporation tax, and other tax matters within the finance team.
