Summary: We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a fast-growing manufacturing and sustainability company on a fully remote fixed-term contract lasting 4-6 months. The role involves overseeing financial accounting, tax compliance, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a professional qualification and demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the production of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
- Perform key monthly financial control activities, including cost allocation, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and process accounting journals, including those related to tax, accruals, and adjustments.
- Support the internal and external audit process, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit queries.
- Assist in accounting policy development and provide technical accounting analysis where required.
- Follow up on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
- Take ownership of payroll activities with an external payroll provider.
- Take ownership of tax reporting, including VAT, corporation tax, and other applicable tax matters.
- Prepare tax accounting calculations, VAT returns, and disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
- Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the company’s financial reporting.
- Ensure timely submission of tax filings and payments.
- Take ownership of compliance procedures to support business activities.
- Holds a professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
- Interested in developing tax expertise, becoming the go-to person for VAT, corporation tax, and other tax matters within the finance team.
