Key Responsibilities:

Detailed Description From Employer:

We're looking to fill 3 x Finance Manager positions for our public sector client on contracts running to March 2028 (Inside IR35), paying up to £700 per day Umbrella. The roles are home based with ad hoc travel to meetings as required.

All three positions sit within the Compliance and Financial Accounting team and will play a critical role in supporting both BAU delivery and the implementation of a major new ERP system due to go live in February 2028. The three specialisms are Inventory Process Owner, Tax (BAU) and Group Accounts / Consolidation.

The successful Finance Managers will be qualified finance professionals who are comfortable managing competing priorities, building strong stakeholder relationships across government and contributing to both operational and programme objectives in a complex, fast-moving environment.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

  • Oracle or similar ERP financial systems, with an understanding of implementation lifecycles including design, build, testing and cutover
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with a track record of delivering to tight timescales in complex environments
  • Stakeholder management and influencing across teams and functions, including cross-government engagement
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and driving change within finance operations
  • Government finance, accounting policies and working collaboratively across departments

For the Tax role you will also need strong VAT expertise within a government context, including contracted out services, taxable benefits and IR35 knowledge. For the Inventory role you will need hands-on experience managing inventory processes at scale within large organisations. For the Group Accounts role you will need strong technical accounting experience in group consolidation, financial reporting and consolidation tools.

A professional accountancy qualification is essential for all three roles.
