Summary: We are looking for a FHIR API Integration Developer to facilitate the integration of various medical systems using FHIR standards. The role involves designing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy standards, and providing technical support for API workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare integration and API management. This position is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, routes, and API integrations utilizing Apache Camel or similar integration frameworks
  • Implement healthcare interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR) to facilitate the standardized, real-time exchange of clinical and imaging data across enterprise systems.
  • Configure connectors for various protocols (AS2, SFTP, FTPS) and integrate external APIs into existing systems to enable seamless communication.
  • Implement transformations for inbound/outbound transactions into XML, JSON, or database formats.
  • Ensure all integrations comply with healthcare data privacy and security standards, including HIPAA and HL7 data exchange protocols.
  • Provide technical support and resolve interface-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure data integrity across API workflows.

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in interface development, integration, and API management within the healthcare domain.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with HL7/FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability solutions.
  • Strong background in RESTful API development (JSON payloads, schemas, headers, authentication) and experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
