Summary: The External Affairs and Policy Manager (Skills) at Skills for Care will play a pivotal role in influencing skills policy and reform for the adult social care workforce in England. This full-time, fixed-term position involves developing policy positions and engaging with various stakeholders to ensure the workforce is adequately represented in skills policy discussions. The successful candidate will report to the Head of External Affairs and Policy and collaborate closely with the workforce skills team. The role requires a strong background in skills and education policy, along with exceptional communication and influencing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an influencing plan for skills development in adult social care.
- Engage with stakeholders including the Department for Education and Skills England.
- Advance policy positions through public affairs activities.
- Support alignment of workforce activities with changes in the skills landscape.
- Ensure representation of the adult social care workforce in skills policy discussions.
