Summary: The AWS Specialist role is a contract position focused on leveraging technical proficiency with AWS services, particularly AWS CLI and S3. The specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting, performing user acceptance testing (UAT), and communicating technical concepts effectively to stakeholders. This position is fully remote and requires a strong understanding of AWS functionalities and documentation interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical proficiency and experience working with AWS CLI, AWS S3, and other core AWS services.
  • Strong understanding of the functioning and interrelationship of different AWS services.
  • Strong understanding of how to use AWS, including setting up S3 folders, using CLI commands, and the ability to interpret and troubleshoot errors.
  • Ability to interpret components of new commands, and the ability to identify and define inputs (e.g., knowledge of Environment Credentials, where input files should reside, etc).
  • General competency with AWS CLI Commands and the ability to apply software documentation to a company’s tech stack.
  • Ability to perform UAT proactively and asynchronously, troubleshoot error messages, and report findings at testing meetings.
  • Ability to apply learnings from past UAT to future UAT.
  • Ability to read and interpret software documentations from a tokenization vendor, and to write and edit code based on generic documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience using ECS/Putty to access, read/write, download files from S3 locations in AWS.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
