Equinix Network Engineer

Summary: The Equinix Network Engineer role is a 12-month remote position requiring extensive experience in network engineering, particularly with Cisco platforms and routing technologies. The candidate will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting network environments, specifically within Equinix settings. Strong expertise in firewall management and policy assessment is also essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and troubleshoot network environments, particularly within Equinix settings.
• Utilize strong expertise with Cisco platforms, including Catalyst and Nexus series.
• Implement and maintain routing and switching technologies.
• Handle BGP, OSPF, BFD, QoS, VPC, GRE, and IPsec configurations.
• Manage Check Point firewalls and rule base management.
• Conduct firewall rule migration and policy assessment.
• Provide strong troubleshooting and problem-solving support.

Key Skills:

• 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience.
• Strong expertise with Cisco platforms (Catalyst 9000, Nexus 9000, Catalyst 8500 series).
• Deep knowledge of routing and switching technologies.
• Extensive experience with BGP, OSPF, BFD, QoS, VPC, GRE, and IPsec.
• Strong experience with Check Point firewalls and rule base management.
• Proven experience working within Equinix environments, especially Network Edge.
• Experience with firewall rule migration and policy assessment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
