Summary: The Senior Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) Manager is tasked with leading the Trust's emergency preparedness and business continuity strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and frameworks. This role involves collaboration with hospital leadership and external partners to design and test emergency plans, coordinate training, and provide expert guidance during incidents. The manager will also work closely with various health and resilience systems to align with national standards and best practices. Overall, the position is critical for maintaining effective incident preparedness and response within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and assurance of emergency preparedness and business continuity arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and NHS EPRR Framework.
- Oversee the design, review, and testing of emergency plans and incident response procedures.
- Coordinate training programmes and simulation exercises.
- Provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders and support incident management during major incidents.
- Collaborate with Integrated Care Board, NHS England, and local resilience forums.
- Contribute to a coordinated system-wide EPRR response.
Key Skills:

Working in close collaboration with Hospital Leadership Teams, the post holder will oversee the design, review, and testing of emergency plans, business continuity frameworks, and incident response procedures. They will also lead on coordinating training programmes and simulation exercises, provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders, and support the Trust's on-call and incident management arrangements during major incidents.
In addition, the role requires close partnership working across the wider health and resilience system, including with the Integrated Care Board (ICB), NHS England, and local multi-agency resilience forums. The post holder will ensure alignment with national standards and best practice, contributing to a coordinated and effective system-wide EPRR response.
