Summary: The Epic HB Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, build, testing, and optimization of Epic Hospital Billing workflows, with a particular emphasis on claims management. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure accurate charge capture, claims generation, billing compliance, and timely reimbursement. The analyst will also manage the end-to-end claims lifecycle and resolve any issues related to claims rejections and denials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, build, and maintain Epic Hospital Billing (HB) application components.
- Manage end-to-end claims lifecycle, including claim creation, edits, submission, follow-up, and resolution.
- Analyze and resolve claim rejections, denials, and payment variances.
- Configure billing rules, charge routers, claim edit workqueues, and follow-up WQs.
- Support EDI 837/835 transactions, remittance advice posting, and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with PFS, coding, and compliance teams to ensure billing accuracy and regulatory compliance (CMS, HIPAA).
- Perform unit testing, integrated testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for billing and claims workflows.
- Assist with upgrades, enhancements, and system optimizations.
- Create and maintain system documentation, workflows, and training materials.
- Provide go-live and post–go-live support.
Key Skills:
- Epic Hospital Billing (HB) Certification or relevant implementation experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with claims processing and billing workflows.
