Summary: The Epic Cadence Analyst is a crucial role focused on the design, configuration, and testing of patient access workflows within the Epic platform. This position involves collaborating with clinical and operational stakeholders to optimize scheduling and access solutions for Ambulatory and Specialty Care operations. The analyst will ensure that system designs meet business requirements and adhere to best practices in patient access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in discovery and design meetings to gather requirements and define workflow needs
  • Design, build, and modify Epic Cadence components, including decision trees, appointment request work queues, subgroups, and pools
  • Support order-based scheduling and ensure seamless integration across modules
  • Develop and maintain documentation for workflow design, configuration, and testing activities
  • Conduct rigorous testing to validate system builds and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement patient access projects and improve scheduling workflows
  • Utilize Visio to create workflow and process documentation
  • Apply best practices for patient access and scheduling optimization

Key Skills:

  • Epic Cadence certification (or equivalent proven experience required)
  • Demonstrated expertise in Decision Tree build and modification
  • Hands-on experience in Ambulatory and Specialty Access build, including appointment request queues and order-based scheduling
  • Strong understanding of Epic MyChart configuration and self-scheduling workflows (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio for workflow mapping and documentation
  • Experience participating in full project lifecycles: discovery, design, build, testing, and implementation
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills

The Epic Cadence Analyst will serve as a key resource in the design, configuration, and testing of patient access workflows within the Epic platform.
