Summary: The Environmental Compliance Manager will be part of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team, focusing on governance and oversight for environmental compliance within the power generation sector. The role involves providing expert environmental advice, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting the company's Zero Harm ambition. The position is remote with monthly team meetings and is contracted until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role requires experience in environmental compliance and auditing within the power generation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of improved environmental performance while providing assurance of compliance with environmental legislation, company policies, and standards.
  • Develop and monitor leading and lagging KPIs to enable the business to set and track environmental management targets.
  • Create and maintain a trending process for environmental aspects and impacts across the business, using reporting, inspections, and statistical data.
  • Deliver environmental awareness initiatives and support communication campaigns, including approval of external environmental training courses.
  • Provide oversight to ensure compliance with environmental permits, licences, and consents required for ongoing operations.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in a similar environmental role within the power generation sector (e.g. solar, wind, nuclear).
  • Competence in auditing and compliance assessments, producing management reports, and identifying corrective actions.
  • Experience working across multiple sites is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK and currently living in the UK.

Contract Type: until 31st December 2026, subject to extension

IR35 Status: Inside, Umbrella

Day rate: up to £500/day DOE

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days
