Summary: The NHS Trust is looking for an experienced Integration Developer with expertise in InterSystems Ensemble and Health Connect to support a major Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme. The role involves designing, building, and optimizing interfaces to facilitate secure data exchange between the EPR and various clinical and operational systems. This position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure high-quality integration delivery. The role is predominantly remote, with occasional onsite presence for key activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interfaces using InterSystems Ensemble / Health Connect
- Build and support integrations using HL7 (v2/v3) and, where applicable, FHIR
- Work with clinical systems teams to understand data flows and integration requirements
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Troubleshoot interface issues and manage defect resolution
- Produce and maintain integration documentation and interface specifications
- Support go-live and hypercare activities as required
Key Skills:
- Proven experience developing integrations using InterSystems Ensemble and/or Health Connect
- Strong experience working within NHS or healthcare environments
- Hands-on experience with HL7 messaging (v2/v3)
- Good understanding of integration engines and interoperability principles
- Experience working on EPR or PAS-related programmes
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with FHIR standards (desirable)
- Exposure to EPR systems such as Epic, Oracle Health, Meditech, or Nervecentre (desirable)
- Understanding of NHS data flows and clinical workflows (desirable)
- Experience supporting go-live and operational handover (desirable)

You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, EPR suppliers, and third-party vendors to ensure integrations are delivered to a high standard and aligned to programme timelines. This is a predominantly remote role, with occasional onsite presence required for key workshops, testing phases, or go-live support.
