Summary: The Engineering - Project Manager - Engineering 3 role is a remote position focused on managing projects within a Telecom Network Infrastructure environment. Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in a related engineering field. Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate typical optical fiber analysis test equipment (OTDR and CD/PMD testing, laser source/power meter testing).
  • Understand and fully interpret Chromatic Dispersion and Polarization Mode Dispersion data.
  • Fully identify ISP and OSP fiber issues and provide resolution advice.
  • Understand various fiber types and their inherent characteristics.
  • Apply splicing techniques and understand their characteristics.
  • Utilize EXFO Toolbox and Exfo Fast Reporter software for fiber test data analysis.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a Telecom Network Infrastructure environment.
  • Proficient in generic office software.
  • Minimum of five years in a project management or project support capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering subject or related technical experience.
  • Experience with understanding vendor contractual deliverables.
  • Experienced with Exfo Fast Reporter software analysis tool.
  • Additional languages are a definite asset.
  • Strong knowledge of ISP and OSP infrastructure.
  • High level analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively present to team meetings both written and orally.
  • Multi-task effectively and maintain project deadlines.
  • Interface with vendors and develop issue remediation protocols.

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for an Engineering - Project Manager - Engineering 3 (Remote) for our premier client.

Education and Experience »
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a Telecom Network Infrastructure environment.
  • Able to use any generic office software.
  • Minimum of five years in a project management or project support capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering subject or related technical experience.
  • Experience with understanding vendor contractual deliverables.
  • Experienced with Exfo Fast Reporter software analysis tool.
  • Additional languages are a definite asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »
  • Knowledge:
  • Project management and strong organizational competence.
  • Able to understand and interpret: OTDR, CD/PMD, OLTS (Optical Loss Test Set) and CMAX traces and files.
  • Able to describe the details, structure, and layout of ISP and OSP (Outside Plant) Fiber Networks.
  • Advanced use experience with Fast Reporter 2 or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of ISP and OSP infrastructure.

Communication:
  • High level analytical skills.
  • Effectively present to team meetings both written and orally.
  • Identify issues and enact resolutions effectively.
  • Assist deployed teams in fiber and wave issue resolution.
  • Multi-task effectively and maintain project deadlines.
  • Interface with vendors and develop issue remediation protocols.

  • Fully identify ISP and OSP fiber issues and provide resolution advice.
  • Understanding of various fiber types and their inherent characteristics.
  • Splicing techniques and inherent characteristics.
  • Understanding and has high working knowledge of EXFO Toolbox used in the analysis of fibre test data or similar software applications.
  • Understanding and has high working knowledge of Exfo Fast Reporter software or similar software applications.
