Summary: The Engineer of Record (EoR) is tasked with the engineering design, certification, and implementation of subsystems for high-speed rail electrification, ensuring compliance with safety and code standards. This role encompasses leadership in design and documentation, as well as interfacing with regulatory authorities. The EoR is also responsible for managing system-level strategies and maintaining quality across all project phases. The position requires extensive experience in high-speed rail power systems and relevant licensure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and certify engineering design for System Engineering, TPS (including HV Intake Substations, TSS, ATS-PP/SP, and 12kV APS), Static Phase Converters (SPC), Overhead Catenary System (OCS), and Power SCADA.
- Prepare and seal all related documentation: studies, plans, reports, specifications, drawings, BOM/BOQ, procedures, and validation documents.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards (e.g., NEC, AREMA, CPUC).
- Manage system-level strategies such as Earthing & Bonding, RAMS, cable plans, Traction Load Flow and Short Circuit studies.
- Oversee quality, safety, and integrity of all design aspects.
- Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to obtain necessary approvals.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in high-speed rail power systems in the U.S.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California and Nevada.
- Proven expertise in high-voltage traction systems, power SCADA, and system integration.
