Key Responsibilities
- Providing employment law advice to HR and management teams across the council.
- Managing a broad caseload of employment law matters.
- Handling Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to conclusion.
- Advising on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and dismissal issues.
- Supporting organisational change projects, restructures, and complex employee relations matters.
- Delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders.
About You
- To be considered for this position, you will:
- Be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Have strong employment law experience.
- Ideally possess experience gained within a Local Authority or wider public sector organisation.
- Have experience managing Employment Tribunal matters independently.
- Be confident advising HR professionals and senior management.
- Be capable of working autonomously in a fully remote environment and managing a busy caseload.
