Summary: The Employee Relations Specialist role involves managing a diverse caseload of employee relations issues within a collaborative HR environment. The position requires providing expert guidance to managers and HR teams while ensuring compliance with employment legislation. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting and support various organizational change initiatives. This is a 12-month contract based in London with occasional travel to St Albans or Epsom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied ER caseload including grievances, disciplinaries, performance and capability matters, absence management, wellbeing cases and contractual queries
- Providing expert ER guidance and support to managers and HR stakeholders
- Coaching and influencing stakeholders to achieve fair and commercially focused outcomes
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, internal policies and procedures
- Supporting organisational change initiatives and employee consultation processes
- Building strong working relationships across the business to promote positive employee relations
- Supporting ER projects, knowledge sharing initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Interpreting legislation updates and translating them into practical business guidance
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring matters are managed in line with best practice and agreed timelines
Key Skills:
- Strong Employee Relations and employment law knowledge gained within HR, ER or a related advisory role
- Experience managing complex and sensitive people matters
- Ability to influence and coach managers through difficult conversations
- Commercially focused with strong judgement and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Collaborative team player with the confidence to seek support where required
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Degree educated or equivalent professional experience preferred
