Summary: The Senior Electrical/Systems Test Engineer will be integral to the testing and validation of hardware systems, focusing on electrical/system testing and debugging of components such as edge processors and cameras within a Linux environment. This role requires hands-on experience in system-level debugging and hardware/software integration for edgeAI devices. The engineer will also develop Python-based automation tools and conduct compliance testing to ensure hardware performance meets industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Debugging: Diagnose and resolve functional or performance issues in systems combining edge processors (e.g., ARM-based SoCs), camera sensors, and embedded Linux platforms.
- Hardware/Software Troubleshooting: Work across electrical interfaces (MIPI-CSI, USB, I2C, etc.) and low-level software layers.
- Linux Debugging: Use Linux tools (e.g., dmesg, strace, gdb, perf, systemd, journalctl) for root cause analysis.
- Python Automation: Develop and maintain Python-based tools and test scripts for regression testing, system monitoring, and validation workflows.
- Design and execute test plans, Build and maintain test benches, cable harnesses, designs fixtures, and improve automated test systems.
- Debug and troubleshoot electrical issues, including power supply, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC etc.,
- Support electrical compliance and qualification testing processes.
- Assist in prototype bringup, lab debugging (scopes, VNAs, logic analyzers).
- Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing to validate designs.
- Develop test setups and procedures to validate hardware performance and compliance with industry standards.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in system-level debugging & testing of embedded platforms (preferably in edgeAI, automotive, or any embedded systems having camera).
- Experience with Altium, Orcad, SPICE; schematic capture and PCB layout understanding.
- Hands-on experience with Linux kernel and user-space debugging tools.
- Experience with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
- Experience with Python scripting, preferably for test automation or data analysis.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC standards and mitigation techniques.
- Worked or has experience with high and low speed interfaces - PCIe, USB, UARTs, GMSL, LVDS, MIPI, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, CAN etc.
- Experience with designing and compliance testing for ESD, EMI, UL, SAE, Automotive standards.
