Summary: The Electrical Design Engineer role is a fully remote position focused on supporting offshore wind farm projects in the UK or Denmark. The consultant will be responsible for delivering power system studies using PSCAD and PowerFactory, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and adapting to project demands. The role requires a proactive approach to model creation, compliance studies, and technical documentation. Candidates should possess significant experience in electrical engineering and relevant software tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and validate EMT and RMS models for relevant assets (e.g., WTG, PPC, STATCOM, as applicable).
- Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, small disturbances and fault scenarios.
- Draft clear, audit-ready technical documentation for internal review and external compliance; contribute to grid-connection workstreams.
- Interface with OEMs on model provisioning, validation, and parameterization.
- Summarize findings, recommend mitigations, and ensure quality in line with client standards across multiple projects.
Key Skills:
- Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD) or equivalent.
- At least 5 years hands-on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including applicable add-ons and analysis modules.
- Required experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory covering steady-state and RMS analyses.
- Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for compliance.
- Scripting/automation skills for workflows and post-processing.
- Experience coordinating with OEMs for model delivery, validation, and updates; strong data confidentiality practices.
- Strong communication skills; able to produce clear reports and stakeholder materials.
- Ability to work independently while following established methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.

The consultant will deliver high-quality power system studies in PowerFactory and PSCAD, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving project priorities and workloads.
