Summary: The Project Accountant role focuses on IFRS/US GAAP conversion projects within the financial services industry, requiring proven experience in this area. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an ECL model under IFRS 9.
- Write technical accounting memos and calculate accounting differences on topics such as impairment, classification models, loan modifications, restructuring, and derecognition.
- Address presentation, covenants, KPIs, systems and data, and currency translations.
- Collaborate with a team to implement accounting standards for IFRS/US GAAP conversion.
Key Skills:
- Experience of working on US GAAP / IFRS conversion projects.
- Technical accounting knowledge in relevant areas under IFRS and US GAAP, particularly IFRS 9.
- ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified or equivalent overseas qualification.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to build and maintain business relationships and work in a team.
- Good understanding of the workings of a finance function.

They currently have a contract for a person who has proven experience and has delivered IFRS / US GAAP conversion projects within the financial service industry. This role is offered on a remote basis with occasional visits to the end clients office.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRE
- -Experience of working on US GAAP / IFRS conversion projects.
- -Experience of developing an ECL model under IFRS 9 Essential
- -Technical Accounting knowledge in relevant accounting areas under IFRS and US GAAP and IFRS 9 within the financial services industry
- -ACA or ACCA or CPA qualified or equivalent overseas qualification - Essential
- -Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, use initiative and produce deliverables of a high standard.
- -Ability to build and maintain business relationships and work in a team.
- -Good understanding of the workings of a finance function
THE ROLE
The project will start soon and scoped to implement accounting standards for the IFRS / US GAAP conversion. You will join a team. Your role will be focussed on developing an ECL model under IFRS 9 You will also be involved in
