Drupal Developer
Summary: The role of Remote Govt Drupal Developer involves designing, developing, and maintaining Drupal-based websites and applications, with a focus on collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement features and ensure performance and security. The position requires extensive experience with Acquia tools and modern web technologies, as well as a strong understanding of Drupal development. The developer will also be responsible for optimizing site performance and managing various components of the Acquia platform. This is a contract position lasting for 2 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in module selection, custom module development, theming, and integration patterns.
- Participate in hands-on Drupal development (Drupal 8/9/10).
- Build and maintain custom modules, themes, APIs, and integrations.
- Optimize site performance, caching, and content delivery strategies using Acquia tools (e.g., Varnish, Cloud Edge, CDN).
- Configure and manage Acquia Cloud, Site Factory, Acquia Search, Lift/Personalization, and other DXP components.
- Collaborate with Acquia support and TAMs to resolve platform-level issues.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience in Drupal development, including Drupal 8/9/10.
- Experience in website design.
- Experience with Acquia Cloud Platform, Site Factory, and Acquia DXP tools.
- Proficient in PHP, Symfony, Composer, Drush, Git, and modern front-end technologies.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, integrations, and decoupled/Headless Drupal.
- Experience with caching, performance tuning, and cloud hosting.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Acquia Pipelines, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience developing and/or testing for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and knowledge of WCAG 2.1 (AA).
- Acquia certifications (Drupal Developer, Site Studio, Cloud Pro, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with Site Studio, Acquia Personalization, or Acquia DAM preferred.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred.
- Experience in government, higher education, or enterprise scale digital platforms preferred.
