Summary: The Director - Retail and Commercial Banking Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for driving client engagement and sales enablement within the banking sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an industry-facing expert during sales pursuits and client meetings, helping articulate value propositions that resonate with banking clients.
  • Collaborate closely with account teams and solution architects to shape proposals, presentations, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Identify and open new opportunities through trusted advisor relationships and strategic insight.
  • Represent the firm as a thought leader in the retail and commercial banking space through whitepapers, industry events, webinars, and roundtables.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and innovation to ensure our offerings remain cutting-edge and relevant.
  • Partner with platform teams (Salesforce, Microsoft, Cloud providers) to co-create targeted financial services solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Provide subject matter input into the development of new service offerings and go-to-market strategies.
  • Advise clients on transformation strategy, digital operating models, customer engagement, and back-office modernization.
  • Lead or support delivery teams with insights and direction grounded in real-world banking experience.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in retail and/or commercial banking, ideally including time spent in consulting or advisory roles.
  • Proven success in client-facing roles, including business development, pre-sales, or solutioning.
  • Strong understanding of digital transformation trends, including core modernization, open banking, customer experience, and embedded finance.
  • Experience with industry platforms and ecosystems (Salesforce, Microsoft, major cloud platforms).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage C-level executives.
