Summary: Whitehall Resources is seeking a DevOps Engineer with active SC clearance for a 6-month contract, primarily remote with occasional visits to South London. The role requires expertise in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure management, and infrastructure as code. Candidates must have proven experience in DevOps practices and a strong understanding of relevant tools and technologies. Active SC clearance is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues
- Collaborate with development teams to improve application performance and scalability
- Implement and maintain containerization and orchestration solutions (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements
- Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and workflows
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
- Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Understanding of networking, security, and system administration principles
- Experience with microservices architecture (preferred)
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) (preferred)
- Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools (preferred)
- DevOps or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer) (preferred)
