Summary: Seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps / Systems Engineer to support and enhance development, QA, and production infrastructure in a 100% remote role. The position focuses on maintaining high system availability, automating deployments, and ensuring optimal performance across environments. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in Windows and Linux server administration, experience managing CI/CD pipelines, and expertise in Atlassian Data Center products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and contribute to the CI/CD pipeline across dev, QA, and production environments.
- Administer and support Windows Server and Linux Server environments.
- Troubleshoot issues across the full stack: OS, network, web server (Apache/Tomcat), and application layer.
- Perform Atlassian Data Center product administration (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.) including upgrades, updates, and migrations.
- Maintain patching schedules and perform Windows patch rollouts with minimal downtime.
- Participate in a Tier 2-3 24/7 on-call rotation for critical systems with fast, effective incident response.
- Support Java application deployments and runtime environments.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and IT teams to improve automation, monitoring, and reliability.
Key Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Systems Engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with build/release/deploy pipelines and automation tools.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, or equivalent).
- Experience with Apache and Tomcat configuration and troubleshooting.
- Solid networking fundamentals, with experience in diagnosing network layer issues.
- Experience administering Atlassian Data Center products in a production environment.
- Windows patch management experience using WSSCCM or equivalent.
- Comfortable participating in 24/7 on-call rotation for production systems.
- Familiarity with Java application configuration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, HiTech, HL7) is preferred.
- Experience with Docker or containerized application environments is preferred.
- Experience with Redis and queueing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) is preferred.
- Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation are preferred.
