Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer involves supporting critical systems for a high-profile financial services client, primarily operating remotely in the UK on Berlin timezone. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, incident management, and system monitoring across various environments, including Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms like Azure and AWS. This position requires strong technical support experience and the ability to liaise with stakeholders effectively. The contract is for 6 months and is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support critical systems and provide technical support.
- Perform troubleshooting, incident management, and system monitoring and maintenance.
- Take ownership of complex technical issues across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
- Lead incident response and ensure systems remain stable, secure, and performant.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and customers to form strong relationships.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years' experience in technical support or system administration.
- Financial Services/Trading experience.
- Strong knowledge of Linux & Windows environments, as well as AWS & Azure.
- Automation & Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Kibana).
- Excellent troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- (Bonus) Exposure to CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform, or Ansible.

The successful DevOps Engineer will have a background as a Support Engineer, and will be tasked with supporting critical systems and providing technical support as well as troubleshooting, incident management and system monitoring and maintenance. You'll take ownership of complex technical issues across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS), leading incident response and ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and performant. In addition, you will be required to liaise with key stakeholders and customers, forming key relationships with both.
