Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer involves supporting a large-scale cloud transformation program with a focus on AWS. The position requires planning, designing, and implementing cloud infrastructure while driving the migration of on-premises services to AWS. The engineer will also implement automation and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring operational security and resilience. This is a remote position based in the UK, offering a competitive daily rate outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Build, release and manage configuration of production systems.
  • Lead continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins Groovy.
  • Migrate on-premises services into AWS, including infrastructure, networking and security set-up.
  • Troubleshoot across cloud-based applications (front-end, back-end, infrastructure).
  • Recommend improvements to processes, architecture and tooling.

Key Skills:

  • Strong AWS experience with Terraform.
  • Hands-on with AWS services including RDS, ECS, API Gateway, SNS.
  • Proficient with DevOps tools: Vault, Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven and SonarQube.
  • Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design (GitHub Actions and Jenkins).
  • Containerisation with Docker.
  • Monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch and SNS.
  • Solid AWS networking knowledge: VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, load balancing and Route 53.
  • Automation skills with Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Git version control expertise (GitHub/GitLab).
  • Proven incident response, root cause analysis and debugging skills.
  • Strong communicator, able to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps) would be a bonus.
  • Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework would be beneficial.

DevOps Engineer 100% Remote-Working (UK-based) 6 months (initially) £375 to £400 per day Outside IR35

The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale cloud transformation programme where you will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS. Working closely with the architecture, service and delivery teams, you will drive the migration of on-premises services into AWS, implement automation, CI/CD pipelines, and ensure operational security and resilience.
