Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer is a senior contract position focused on leading technical initiatives and enhancing team skills while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. The position requires extensive experience with AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, along with excellent communication skills. The role is fully remote and is expected to last for six months with a likelihood of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Skills:

  • Experience with Snowflake and ML Ops practices (nice to have).

DevOps Contract

Rate: £625 per day (Inside IR35)

Fully Remote

6 Months, likely extension.

Real need: A senior that has experience leading from a technical POV, good up-skilling of team, good stakeholder relations.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, and security groups.
  • Expertise in Cloudflare configuration and management, including DNS, security, and performance features.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and maintaining code repositories (preferably GitHub).
  • Track record of designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
  • Experience building observability and metrics solutions for distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills , with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Snowflake data warehousing, including integration, automation, and data pipeline deployment.
  • Exposure to ML Ops practices, including deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production environments.
  • Familiarity with security and SecOps tools , such as vulnerability scanners, security incident management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with additional IaC or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is a plus.
  • Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.
  • Prior contractor or consulting experience in a DevOps capacity.
