Summary: The DevOps Engineer (AWS) role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure while ensuring efficient software delivery through CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Develop, manage, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Deploy and manage containerised applications using Kubernetes.
- Support and administer Kafka messaging platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor production environments, troubleshoot incidents, and implement proactive improvements.
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, testers, and security teams.
- Implement security best practices across cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience supporting and managing Apache Kafka.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Strong Scripting skills using Bash or Python.
- Experience with Docker and container technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
