Summary: Seeking an experienced DevOps Consultant to support digital and cloud transformation projects within the public sector. The role focuses on resolving infrastructure and service incidents, enhancing efficiency through automation, and driving improvements across development and operations teams. The position requires SC Clearance and is classified as inside IR35. The expected duration is 6 months, starting on 23 March 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage automated infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Implement and maintain containerisation and orchestration solutions with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deliver and optimise cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including performance, security, and scalability.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Embed security throughout the development lifecycle (DevSecOps) using tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, or similar.
- Support continuous integration, monitoring, and automation to improve system reliability and uptime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents, improve build quality, and enhance service delivery.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or systems automation.
- Strong knowledge of IaC, CI/CD, and container orchestration.
- Proven experience across one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Practical understanding of monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure deployment practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.
- Capable of leading best practice adoption and mentoring teams in modern DevOps approaches.
