Summary: The role of Designer involves supporting various technical design projects on a contract basis for 3-6 months. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in schematics, installations, and DWDM technology, with a preference for those from an energy-related background. Candidates must have valid SC Security Clearance prior to application. This position is fully remote, offering competitive compensation based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed schematics, installations, rack layouts, elevation views, floorplans, and equipment housing for various technical projects.
  • Design and configure powering solutions and manage power supply integration.
  • Work with DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology, ensuring proper integration and functionality of the system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide technical support and solutions as required throughout the design process.
  • Review and analyse design specifications to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all deliverables.
  • Utilize Ms Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint for documentation, presentations, and project planning.
  • Support the implementation of designs in line with project timelines and goals.

Key Skills:

  • Must hold SC Clearance (Security Clearance) before applying.
  • Proven experience in schematics, installations, rack layouts, elevation views, floorplans, and equipment housing.
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) systems.
  • Experience with power supply design and integration, ensuring systems are powered correctly and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Hitachi Fox615 kit and similar technologies is highly preferred.
  • A background in the energy sector (oil, gas, renewables, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint for design documentation, reporting, and presentations.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
