Key Responsibilities:
- Support the MLRO in compliance responsibilities for a fintech payments business.
- Participate with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.
- Translate business strategy into functional compliance plans and guide through to execution.
- Interact with senior management, executives, and major customers, negotiating significant matters.
- Reconcile multiple stakeholder views to drive business results.
- Act as escalation and decision point for Financial Crime and Fraud matters.
- Be responsible for SAR decisions, ensuring regulatory reporting related to AML/Financial Crime is accurate and timely.
- Document and report AML risks to senior leadership.
- Provide advice on policies, new products, and expansion initiatives.
- Oversee outsourced Financial Crime Compliance activities and monitor key AML controls.
- Track and implement regulatory changes.
- Manage internal/external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Grow to manage a team of AML CFT Compliance professionals focused on UK customers.
Key Skills:
- A degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in AML, compliance, risk management, or a related area is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in second line of defense, focusing on AML, Payments, Outsourcing, and vendor management in a licensed entity in the UK.
- Understanding of European payments legislation (e.g. PSD2) and UK FCA rules and guidance.

What you’ll be doing:
- Support the MLRO in their responsibilities for a fast-growing fintech payments business.
- Participate with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.
- Translate business strategy into functional compliance plans and guide through to execution.
- Interact with senior management, executives, and/or major customers which frequently involves negotiating matters of significance to the organization.
- Reconcile multiple stakeholder views to drive business results.

- Be responsible (directly or through delegation) for SAR decisions.
- Ensure all regulatory reporting related to AML/Financial Crime is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure AML risks are appropriately documented and reported to senior leadership.
- Provide advice and guidance on policies, new product and expansion initiatives.
- Execute oversight on all outsourced Financial Crime Compliance activities.
- Direct and oversee the monitoring and testing key AML controls.
- Track and direct implement regulatory change.
- Manage and support internal / external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Over time, you’ll grow in your role to manage a team of AML CFT Compliance professionals focused on UK customers.
