Summary: The Deltek/Costpoint Consultant role involves leading requirements-gathering sessions and configuring Deltek Costpoint modules to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders from finance, accounting, and project management to understand business needs and translate them into effective system configurations.
  • Configure and maintain core Deltek Costpoint modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Setup, Fixed Assets) to support business processes and financial controls.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices for Deltek Costpoint functionality, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training materials and sessions for end-users, ensuring a smooth transition and user adoption.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, providing ongoing support and strategic recommendations for process improvements.
  • Lead the technical aspects of Deltek Costpoint implementations, including system installations, upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and integrations using tools such as Cognos Analytics, SQL, or other business intelligence platforms.
  • Perform data migration and data validation tasks, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during system transitions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, working with Deltek support and internal IT teams as necessary.
  • Manage API connections and develop custom scripts to automate processes and integrate Costpoint with other enterprise systems.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 5/10 years of hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (preferably version 8.x).
  • Demonstrable expertise in both the functional business processes and the technical architecture of the Costpoint system.
  • Strong understanding of government contracting accounting principles, including FAR, DFARS, and CAS.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Deltek certification (Deltek Certified Professional).
  • Experience with other Deltek products such as Deltek Time & Expense or Deltek Cobra.
