Summary: The DCO Project Engineering Manager will oversee engineering activities for a renewable energy project, focusing on both pre-planning and post-planning phases. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning process and provide viable engineering concept designs during pre-planning consent stages.
- Manage readiness for financial decisions and procurement during the post-planning consent phase.
- Oversee site activities, commissioning, and acceptance of technical documentation at handover.
- Develop the Engineering Management Plan and related documentation to ensure quality control and governance.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to align engineering and procurement activities with the overall project programme.
- Ensure compliance with internal and industry HSE requirements.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in engineering project management within power generation (solar, wind, nuclear).
- Strong technical background with problem-solving abilities for complex engineering challenges.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams.
- UK citizenship and residency required.

The DCO Project Engineering Manager will own the project technical assumptions and manage Engineering activities for the Project. The DCO Project Engineering Manager will liaise as necessary with the other project work package managers to ensure suitability of project design focussing on constructability and operability of the site.
Responsibilities
- Pre-planning consent stages, the focus is on, supporting the planning process and providing a viable engineering concept design; and
- Post-planning consent phase, the focus is on: readiness for financial decisions and procurement; setting up and managing contractors and client assurance of design; overseeing site activities and commissioning; and accepting technical documentation at handover.
- Manage and develop the scope for all design and engineering work packages under the Project scope;
- Develop the Engineering Management Plan and / or Design Management Plan to identify how Engineering will be delivered, governance applied and quality controlled. This includes sub-ordinate documentation such as: CDM related documentation; technical RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies); stage plans; Pre-Construction Information; basis of design; requirements register; and interface control documents.
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure engineering and procurement related works are considered and well aligned in the overall project programme.
- Ensure work activities are carried out safely and in compliance with relevant internal and industry HSE requirements (e.g. CDM).
Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in engineering project management, including managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical background with the ability to address and resolve complex engineering challenges.
