Summary: The DC Cloud SME - Ansible role involves collaborating with enterprise architects to design and implement infrastructure architecture principles and standards. The position requires strategic oversight of various infrastructure technologies and serves as a key escalation point for operational issues. Candidates should possess extensive experience in architecture, particularly within the financial services sector, and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities in IT infrastructure solutions. This is a remote contract position with a focus on cloud technologies and best practices in infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with enterprise architect on design, strategy, and standards; documents and publishes appropriate infrastructure architecture principles and standards, position papers, blueprints, best practices, patterns, and frameworks
- Set strategic direction for various infrastructure technologies such as public cloud, directory services, collaboration services, network, storage, server, database and security best practices
- Promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies.
- Serve as level-4 escalation point for operations team and assist with problem resolution and root cause analysis as needed
- Plans for life and refresh cycles. Ensures that architected solutions work in line with application, network, desktop, server, storage, etc.
- Develops and monitors technology architecture and technology vision; determines current and future enterprise infrastructure needs
- Ensures that installations and upgrades are done in accordance with established policies, procedures, and license agreements
- Identifies, implements, and monitors best practices for infrastructure technology architecture
- Reviews software requirements and designs architecture for high availability and disaster recovery as per business requirements
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of architecture-related experience, at least 3 of which needs to be working as an architect
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in financial services industry
- Experience in IT Consulting is preferred
- Ability to work with and lead Infrastructure and DevOps teams towards IT infrastructure solutions
- Expert knowledge of standard infrastructure components such as Windows-based servers, enterprise network components, public cloud Infrastructure/PaaS technologies, Microsoft Exchange/Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, Server Virtualization, Enterprise SAN Storage
- Cloud certification in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Must be proficient in English
- Ability to work with and present solution ideas to C-level executives
- Demonstrated history of enterprise application Infrastructure design & several years' experience creating enterprise Infrastructure architectures and solutions
- Experience in leading projects
- Experience with merger and acquisition IT Infrastructure planning
- Analytical skills and ability to see the big picture

Education Requirements
B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in hardware architecture or system architecture or MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering with at least 7 years in hardware and network systems architecture
