Summary: Risetime is seeking a remote DB2 COBOL Developer with extensive experience in IBM COBOL and DB2 SQL, particularly in data-intensive environments. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills in a mainframe setting and excellent communication abilities. Familiarity with the grocery distribution industry and additional technologies like Java and WebSphere is advantageous. Candidates must be located in the US, as sponsorship is not available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain applications using IBM COBOL in a data-intensive environment.
- Utilize DB2 SQL for managing units of work, rollbacks, and restarts.
- Execute programs in a Mainframe environment, including JCL and GDGs.
- Implement shell scripts and manage sockets in AIX.
- Collaborate with team members during system test release cycles.
- Participate in a 24-hour support rotation.
Key Skills:
- 10 years of experience with IBM COBOL.
- Mastery of DB2 SQL syntax and Embedded SQL.
- Proficient in JCL and GDGs.
- Working knowledge of AIX, including shell scripts and sockets.

Risetime is currently seeking a DB2 COBOL Developer. This is a remote position but candidates local to the Chicago area would be a plus. We require candidates to be located in the US and we cannot provide sponsorship at this time. No third party candidates.

- 10 years experience with IBM COBOL in a data intensive, highly transactional environment
- DB2 SQL
- Mastery of SQL syntax and Embedded SQL

- Record sequential file organization
- Working knowledge of AIX
