Summary: MCS Group is seeking an experienced Database Specialist for a short-term contract focused on the design, development, and optimization of database infrastructure within the IoT and telecommunications sectors. The role involves creating a scalable database layer for a mission-critical system, ensuring high performance and reliability. The position allows for remote work across the UK, with an emphasis on independent problem-solving and collaboration with engineering teams. The contract duration is expected to be 2-3 months, starting ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:

Key Skills:
- Extensive, expert-level knowledge and experience with SQL and PostgreSQL in production environments
- Strong working knowledge of TimescaleDB (or an awareness of it) is highly desirable
- Demonstrable experience in scaling database solutions to meet high throughput and storage demands
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and deliver within tight timeframes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

MCS Group is working with a highly innovative client operating within the IoT, wireless, and telecommunications space, who are seeking an experienced Database Specialist to support a short-term, high-impact project. This is a short-term contract requirement, which will involve working on the design, development and optimisation of database infrastructure to support a scalable and future-proofed platform. You will be instrumental in shaping the database layer that underpins a mission-critical system.
