Summary: The Database Developer role involves designing, developing, and maintaining SQL Server databases, as well as building data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory. The position requires expertise in ETL/ELT processes and T-SQL queries for data transformation and reporting. The developer will also be responsible for performance tuning, data validation, and collaborating with business teams to meet data requirements. This is a contract position with a remote working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Build and manage data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for loading data from multiple sources.
- Write complex T-SQL queries for data transformation and reporting.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ADF pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Perform SQL Server performance tuning, including query optimization and indexing.
- Implement data validation, error handling, and logging mechanisms.
- Collaborate with data architects and business teams to understand data requirements.
- Support data migration and integration efforts (on-premises to Azure).
- Maintain technical documentation for database objects and data flows.
- Follow data security and governance best practices.
