Role: Database Administrator (Contract)Location: Remote (UK)Rate: Negotiable, Outside IR35Skills: Microsoft SQL ServerThe Contract:We are recruiting a Database Administrator / DBA for an initial 6-month contract, to work with a global business which is investing heavily in the modernisation of their technology landscape. The contract will primarily be to ensure the performance, integrity and security of the business databases. Working with relational databases and existing technologies such as SQL Server, with the potential to support the business on their evolving journey towards modern technologies.Develop and maintain database maintenance plans.Monitor performance of databases and system resources. Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, connectivity and security issues. Plan and implement database installations, upgrades, migrations and configuration.Proactively monitor and respond to database and associated alerts on a round the clock rota.Optimise SQL code as necessary.Sought Experience:Extensive experience with database technologies such as SQL Server.Experience performing manual tests on Windows based systems.Understanding of software specification requirements, and the ability to interpret acceptance criteria and derive tests accordingly .Experience testing the integration points between modules, applications and systems.Any experience with Sybase / SQL Anywhere would be advantageous, but not essential.This is an urgent requirement, please express your interest ASAP.
