Key Responsibilities:
- Upgrade, install, patch, and remediate vulnerabilities in Oracle RDBMS products and services on Linux servers.
- Manage and maintain a complex Oracle RDBMS production environment.
- Upgrade, install, patch, and remediate vulnerabilities in Oracle eBusiness Suite applications on Linux servers.
- Ensure the integration and performance of Oracle eBusiness Suite with other systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Oracle eBusiness Suite.
- Understand the complexities of NoSQL databases in scalable, high-performance applications.
- Work with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
- Handle database patching, design, vulnerability remediation and write complex queries on Windows and Linux servers.
- Support USPS implemented middle tier technologies, including web and application servers, containers, messaging technologies, and cloud platforms.
Key Skills:

Summary
Experienced in problem resolution and efficient operation of a multi-computer site that supports database administration, analysis, and report production; data dictionary administration; and system development. Under general direction, provides highly technical expertise and guidance in the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS). Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, NoSQL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Evaluates and recommends available DBMS products after matching requirements with system capabilities. Defines required database administration policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Prepares and delivers presentations on DBMS concepts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Database administration Work hours will be determined by USPS requirements, including off-shift and weekend hours for patching and production builds.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex functional activities in support of Oracle RDBMS products and services, Oracle eBusiness Suite, and/or NoSQL databases such as Cassandra. This role requires a deep understanding of database technologies and the ability to manage and optimize both relational and NoSQL databases in high-performance environments.

Oracle RDBMS Support:
Upgrade, install, patch, and remediate vulnerabilities in Oracle RDBMS products and services on Linux servers.
Manage and maintain a complex Oracle RDBMS production environment.
Oracle eBusiness Suite Support:
Upgrade, install, patch, and remediate vulnerabilities in Oracle eBusiness Suite applications on Linux servers.
Ensure the integration and performance of Oracle eBusiness Suite with other systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Oracle eBusiness Suite.
NoSQL Database Support:
Understand the complexities of NoSQL databases in scalable, high-performance applications.
Work with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.

Middle Tier administration - Work hours will be determined by USPS requirements, including off-shift and weekend hours for patching and production builds.
The successful candidate will be able to support USPS implemented middle tier technologies, including web and application servers, containers and container management technologies, messaging technologies, cloud platform and services, automation tools, scripting languages and monitoring tools. Current technologies in use include Apache Tomcat, WildFly, Oracle Fusion Middle Tier (OFM), IBM WebSphere, Apache HTTP, Kubernetes, Docker and other types of containers, IBM MQ, Kafka, Zookeeper, RedHat OpenShift, Rancher, Ansible, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Linux shell scripting, Microsoft PowerShell, JYTHON, AppDynamics, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Neustar and Splunk.
Additional Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of Oracle production support DBA experience; specifically, RMAN, OEM, and RAC

Education:
A minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years relevant experience.
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.
Additional Provisions
Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
Once a candidate s resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
Agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without previous written authorization. Authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time.
